Coloring Book Zentangle Style Fantasy Fish in Ocean Drawing

Here's a fun illustration I did for my Through the EYES of an ARTIST Coloring Book

I did this whole book in what I call a direct inking process. This means that I do no preliminary sketches at all, I take pen to paper and start to immediately illustrate without any preconceived idea in mind. What I end up with when I have a finished drawing is often a surprise for me and part of the fun of doing this series of zendoodles for this book series.

This little guy decided to take a swim in the ocean and play with some sea creatures so I went along for the beach visit.

You can see a work in progress video of this drawing - and many others - on my Coloring Life Happy Facebook page in my Videos album.

Sea She! Coloring Book Zentangle Style Drawing with Seahorse, Starfish and Sea Shells.

Here's a work in progress video on my latest hand drawn, direct inked (no preliminary sketches), Zentangle Style Zendoodle Fantasy Ocean / Sea Coloring Book Illustration featuring an adorable Seahorse, a cute Starfish and Sea Shells.

This drawing will be included in my next coloring book, "Through The EYES Of An ARTIST Fantasy Coloring Book" available on Amazon.

I have to say this turned out really wonderful and I can't wait to color it myself for posters, clothing and gifts on my store!

Good Coloring Deals on Prismacolor Colored Pencils!

Couple of great deals on Amazon today for Prismacolor Colored Pencils!

132 Set, PRISMACOLOR PREMIERE SOFT CORE COLORED PENCILS
$92.99 (regularly  $180!):

I bought the 132 pack a few years ago and paid way more (insert sad imoji here.) Wish I'd been able to get this deal on the larger set here. Prismacolors are my favorite colored pencils, I do a lot of my illustrations with them and plow through them pretty quickly.  I order individual replacement pencils, of course, but I admit to being addicted to brand new sets, so I'm always checking out prices. I also love their storage tins, lol.

150 Set, PRISMACOLOR PREMIERE SOFT CORE COLORED PENCILS

$154.95 (regularly  $300+!):

Great deals, especially if you have Amazon Prime.

(I am an Amazon affiliate so, yes, I do get a buck or two if you buy from my links - which means if enough do I can order more pencils too, lol.)

Zentangle Style Zendoodle Fantasy Feather Coloring Book Drawing

Finished up this fun, new fantasy feather art for my next coloring book (working book title at this point is "Through The Eyes of an Artist Zendoodle Fantasy Coloring Book" by Terri Dennis aka Pop Art Diva).

I'm creating all the illustrations for this book by direct inking, in other words, I don't do any initial sketches, I just start inking the image directly onto the paper and let it turn into what it wants to turn into!

This one decided it wanted to be feathered so I went with it. For this whole book I am morphing women's faces into fantasy designs so I always start with the eyes then part of the face to create the mode or emotion and let it flow intuitively from there.

Zentangle Style Zendoodle Fantasy Bird Art Coloring Book Illustration

Here's a video of one of my new zendoodle drawings for my next coloring book. This new book is all drawings of partial women's faces that morph into other things, in this case it turned into a fantasy bird.

I love drawing faces, in particular I love doing eyes because you can say a lot about a mood or persons expression with just the way the eye is drawn.

It's a zentangle style "zendoodle" that I create by inking the original directly onto the paper without doing an initial sketch. I draw the eyes first then allow the drawing to happen organically, letting the drawing "become what it wants to be". This is a thoroughly enjoyable intuitive illustrating process that really puts me in a zen-like mood and I am doing the whole coloring book this way.

I'm hoping to have the book - the working title at this point is "Through The Eyes of an Artist Zendoodle Fantasy Coloring Book" - is illustrated, formatted and published on Amazon by the middle of May!

Good Deal On Coloring Supplies on Amazon

This looks like a good deal on Amazon for trying out different #coloring mediums. Probably not the highest quality, but the box alone is worth the price and you could replace the tools with higher-quality ones after you use them.

This would be great for kids too.
Keep Calm & Color On!
